We regret to inform you that we are terminating the employment contract as of June 27th, 2023 (last employment contract dated February 1st, 2022), (pursuant to Article 117(1) of the Law on Termination of Employment (24/1967) in Cyprus). Since your seniority is 5 years and 6 months, we are required to give you seven weeks' notice.
This decision was taken following the closure of our short and long term rental business, which unfortunately made your position unemployed (Article 9 of the Law on Termination (Amendment) 22(1)
/2001)).
This decision is independent of us, as the last tenant of our property in Berlin terminated the lease in January 2023 and the company no longer has any premises to rent.
We would like to emphasize that this decision is not related to your recent return from maternity leave. (Please note that termination is not related to maternity leave within the meaning of Employment (Maternity Protection) Act 100(I)
/2017).
In accordance with Art. 122 of the Employment Act (Resolution) (24/1967), we will pay you your salary and any holiday allowance. In addition, we will issue you with a job reference on request. (Art. 9 para. 1 lit. b Termination Act).
We inform you that pursuant to art. 11 of the Employment Termination Act (24/1967) we are obliged to justify the decision to terminate your employment contract. The liquidation of our rental, as a result of which your position as an Assistant Manager, has become redundant, is sufficient justification for our decision. As we stated above, there are no more manageable rental properties, and the last two properties are in the final stages of sale. (The employee role is no longer essential for the company's operational needs).
